Focuslight Releases 10W 808nm Single Emitter LD

Xi’an, China, December, 2009 - Focuslight Technologies Co., Ltd. releases its high-power single emitter diode laser available at 808nm wavelength with 10W output power. The device was fabricated using 200µm chip with a cavity of 4mm length and the output power larger than 10W. The new product can provide brightness four times higher than that of the common 10W 808nm single emitter diode lasers produced from 400µm chip in the current market, which greatly improves the pumping efficiency and fiber coupling efficiency. Although the 4mm long cavity could lower the power conversion efficiency, it will dramatically enhance the stability and life-time of the device. Reliability is always at the highest priority in the product quality standards of Focuslight.
Focuslight’s 10W single emitter semiconductor lasers were packaged using its unique F-mount hard solder at high temperature, characterized by a power conversion efficiency of 50% and the spectral width (FWHM) less than 2nm. At the same time, it shows outstanding stability and high reliability. Since Focuslight can provide different kinds of fast axis collimations according to customers specific requirements, this product could be especially well applied in pumping of solid state laser systems of blue light and green light in the applications of entertainment.
It was known from the medical exhibition in November in Frankfurt that 10W 808nm diode laser is no longer limited to be used in dental treatment and the new applications will involve in portable laser surgery field. In addition to the high brightness, its excellent price quality would further extend its applications in this field.
