An endoscope consists of a long, flexible tube, a camera, a light source, and an image transmission system, allowing doctors or engineers to observe internal structures without large incisions or disassembly. In medical applications, endoscopes are commonly used for gastrointestinal exams, bronchoscopies, and arthroscopic surgeries. Compared with conventional reusable endoscopes, disposable devices assure patient-specific care by reducing risk of infection/contamination, remove the necessity for sterilization or cleaning procedures.
Focuslight's high-quality wafer-level optics and wafer-level stacking technology allow for miniaturized easy-to-use objectives and can be easily integrated into the optical assemblies of endoscopes, especially disposable ones, enhancing the overall optical performance, including image quality and system performance.
