Laser hair removal is powered by the selective photothermolysis theory. While light under certain wavelength, energy and pulse width penetrates the skin surface and reaches the hair follicle at the root of the hair, melanin in the hair follicle and hair shaft absorbs the light. By thermal effect, hair follicles are disabled and lose the ability to regenerate, without the surrounding tissues damaged.
