Job Responsibilities

1. Ensure daily production, organize, implement and maintain production process flow.
2. Improve existing Plasma RIE etching processes to reduce production costs and increase production capacity.
3. Establish reliable plasma etching machine Identify and prevent machine failure.
4. Investigate operational problems affecting production, detect non conformities, report and recommend.
5. Diagnose, inspect, and perform maintenance on machines, installations, and equipment to minimize machine.
6. Create, update working instructions, process documents.
7. Cooperate with lithography and metrology department for process improvements.
8. Train and supervise operator/technician staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. B. Sc. / M. Sc. degree in Microtechnology or a related field.
2. Interest in microtechnology, manufacturing methods, and analysis techniques.
3. Knowledge and experience in dry etching (RIE), thin films, and metrology are a plus.
4. Proficiency in common computer tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
5. Autonomous, thorough, punctual, with a good team spirit.
6. Knowledge of technical English and mechanical skills is a plus.

Based in the San Francisco bay area, you will represent the Focuslight brand of products, at major OEM customers across all our segments, with particular focus on consumer electronics and telecom/datacom market segments.

With our strong portfolio of micro- optics and laser component and modules, you will identify and deliver compelling solutions for customers’ photonics requirements. 

Job Responsibilities

1. Regularly meet or exceed your sales quota, while aggressively expanding the total sales opportunity funnel in NA.
2. Employ best in class ‘consultative selling’ sales strategies, to establish and grow revenues at new and existing $B+ global OEM customers.
3. Cultivate personal relationships at all levels within our target accounts, visiting them regularly in order to ensure strong customer alignment, satisfaction and retention.
4. Provide sales leadership for the full customer product life-cycle, maximizing Focuslight market share at all target accounts in the region.
5. Through critical market analysis, identify new business opportunities and market adjacencies for Focuslight capabilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

The product engineer is the technical owner responsible for ensuring that optical/photonics components and modules can be manufactured reliably, at high yield, and with consistent performance, from prototype through mass production.

This role bridges R&D design, manufacturing, materials, process engineering, and customer requirements, acting as the engineering authority for product industrialization.

The position is open for China and Singapore site and will be supporting product development for China (Shaoguan).

Job Responsibilities

1.Technical Leadership

• Support product development activities with on-site ownership of engineering builds (EVT/DVT/PVT) at China manufacturing sites.
• Drive feasibility analysis through close coordination with design and optical engineers.
• Translate product definitions, drawings, and specifications into executable manufacturing instructions.
• Drive DFM/DFA feedback from factory to design teams to ensure manufacturability and scalability.
• Act as the primary technical interface between factory teams and global R&D / product teams.

2.Prototyping, Validation and Reliability

• Lead on-site troubleshooting during engineering builds and pilot runs to ensure schedule, quality, and yield targets are met.
• Manage prototype builds and test plans and drive qualification activities.
• Provide NRE costs for customer sample request through close collaboration with PLM and process engineering team.

3. Cross‑Functional & Supplier Collaboration

• Represent engineering in customer technical discussions.
• Partner with suppliers on material innovation, tooling, and process capability.
• Work closely with manufacturing, process engineering, equipment engineering, and quality teams on the shop floor.
• Work with MES team to ensure that the product’s requirements and manufacturing rules are correctly implemented.

4.Ramp-Up & Production Support

• Support product ramp-up and mass production readiness, including process validation and  yield stabilization.
• Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for product- and process-related issues during ramp and production.
• Manage engineering changes (ECR/ECN) and ensure timely implementation at the factory.
• Support cost reduction, yield improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives, issues (8D, PDCA, etc.).
• Support customer audits, technical reviews, and issue resolution as required.

Qualification Requirements

1.Basic Requirements 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Optical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, EE, or equivalent.
• Fluent in English, capable of using English as a working language.

2.Work Experience

• At least 3 years of experience in optics/photonics or optical module product development.

3.Knowledge and Skills

• Strong background in imaging optics, illumination systems, WLO, micro‑optics, or diffractive optics.
• Experience with consumer/automotive optical sensing modules (ToF, LiDAR, NIR cameras is a plus.
• Advanced hands‑on lab skills in optical metrology and characterization.
• Experience with high‑volume manufacturing processes.
• Strong technical analysis using statistical software such as Minitab, JMP and other software.

1. Position Overview

Based on Focuslight’s global layout in the photonics industry and the current multi-site collaborative operation, lead the formulation and implementation of the global lean operation strategy. In the short term, focus on improving production efficiency, delivery capability and cost control to ensure global order fulfillment and supply chain resilience. In the long term, lead the planning and construction of a global digital & intelligent operation center, integrate lean philosophy with SAP, MES, AI and big data tools, and build a unified global lean system adaptable to global operations. Drive standardized processes, visualized operation and intelligent decision-making across global bases, and build a high-collaboration, high-efficiency and low-cost global lean operation model. 

2. Key Responsibilities

• Global Lean System Planning & Establishment: Develop a medium- and long-term global lean operation plan and annual implementation plan in line with the company’s global strategy and global operation centers plan. Lead the establishment of a unified global lean system covering the entire industrial chain, adaptable to global operations, and clarify objectives, implementation paths and resource requirements for each base and stage to support global integrated operation.
• Global Digital & Intelligent Operation Center Development: Lead the planning and implementation of the global digital & intelligent operation center, and drive the deep integration of lean management with SAP, MES, AI and big data. Build a global operation data middle platform and visual command platform to realize full-process data connectivity and intelligent analysis of production, quality, supply chain, equipment and delivery. Promote lean-intelligent projects including intelligent production lines, automated logistics, and establish a global lean digital twin system.
• Efficiency Improvement & Delivery Assurance: Lead production efficiency improvement across global bases, tackle bottleneck processes, optimize production line layout, and enhance OEE, per capita output and capacity utilization. Establish a global delivery assurance mechanism, coordinate cross-base capacity allocation and process collaboration, respond quickly to customer orders, shorten lead times, and ensure the stability of the global supply chain.
• Global Lean Project Promotion & Implementation: Lead major lean improvement projects including production line optimization, process reengineering, layout adjustment and cost reduction & efficiency enhancement, and set up global cross-functional and cross-regional project teams. Establish a global lean project management mechanism to track progress, evaluate effectiveness, conduct reviews and solidify results, forming a replicable global lean improvement methodology.
• Lean Quality Management: Integrate lean thinking into the global quality management system, implement lean quality tools to reduce defect rates and quality loss costs. Establish unified global lean quality standards to improve product consistency and stability to meet the requirements of high-end photonic device manufacturing.
• Global Lean Culture Development & Talent Cultivation: Be responsible for the promotion of global lean culture, and organize lean training and awareness improvement for Chinese and overseas bases. Establish a global lean talent echelon, identify and cultivate cross-regional lean backbones, and build a professional and international lean team.
• Global Cross-departmental & Cross-base Collaboration: Collaborate with global production, engineering, quality, supply chain, procurement and logistics teams to promote the implementation of lean concepts across the entire value chain. Coordinate and resolve cross-border operational process barriers, optimize the global lean management model, and ensure efficient global operation collaboration.
• Global Operation Data Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Establish a global KPI monitoring system for lean operation, regularly analyze operation data of global bases, identify shortcomings and drive closed-loop improvements. Build a global continuous improvement mechanism, encourage rationalization proposals, and foster a cross-border, full-participation lean improvement culture.

3. Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing, photonics, Operations Management or related fields.
• 8+ years of lean/operations management experience in optics, consumer electronics industry; 5+ years of experience as Lean Director / Lean Manager in global operations, with successful track record in lean management across multinational multi-site operations.
• Proficient in lean tools and methodologies; proven experience in independently building a global lean system and leading digital / intelligent factory construction; familiar with digital systems such as MES; experience in AI + lean implementation is a strong plus.
• Excellent global coordination, cross-cultural communication, change management and project management capabilities; result-oriented and open to global business travel.
