Job Responsibilities
1. Project Planning and Management
- Plans, directs and oversees overall project in order to deliver within scope, budget (cost & resources), on schedule and performance per requirements. Requires to lead multiple projects in parallel (number of projects subjected to project complexity & priority).
- Develops detailed project planning in accordance with project objectives and project gates/milestone deliverables per defined company methodology and expected documentations. Project plans include timelines, quality targets, and cost.
- Analyzes and defines stakeholders communication strategy.
- Secures resources for the project team, define the roles and responsibilities of each team member, and motivates the team to achieve project objectives.
- Identifies and evaluates in detail potential risks, critical paths with the project core team in the planning phase and establishes mitigation plans.
- Coordinates and steers team down a clear path to the final project completion. Cut down on inefficiencies. And present in project review meetings.
2. Project Implementation and Control
- Drives overall project progress, continues to review risks, and develop corresponding adjustment plans and contingency strategies to ensure the project is completed on time, within quality standards, and in compliance with regulations. Triggers project change flow when required.
- Lead project meetings, regularly update project stakeholders on progress, and oversee project phase transition reviews. Tracks and prepare concise reports on project status to team and stakeholders.
- Maintains effective communications to minimize unwanted surprises with stakeholders and manages expectations. Main project interface to business units, customer (as required) and internal / external project partners.
- Manages project budgets and actual expenses during project execution in accordance with budget allocations. Monitor & analyze budget-expense to avoid massive overruns or underutilization. Proactively makes adjustment to effectively manage expenditures and team resources, triggers project change flow when required.
- Manages project resources, delegates tasks and connects collaboration with internal and external resources.
- Surfaces problems proactively and feeding back relevant issues timely for attention. Works with technical lead in driving resolution of complex issues and problems. Tracks lesson learned throughout project duration.
- Enforces disciplined documentation trails in the designated project depositories among team members. Ensure adherence to relevant standards, process and regulations. Oversees the archiving of documents at each project phase is done by responsible functions.
3. Project Closure Management
- Ensures proper handover at industrialization stage till mass production to operations.
- Summarizes the lessons learned from the project team's work and transfers responsibilities to the main department responsible for daily production and operations.
- Presents project closure and ensures clear disposition of project expense settlements, inventories and relevant documentations.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a related discipline and/or have demonstrated increasing levels of technical management responsibilities.
- Preference for candidates with excellent English proficiency in both spoken and written communication skills.
- Recommended PMI/PM certification / Agile / Scrum or equivalent.
2.Work Experience
- Total working experience >5years where 2-3 years of professional project management experience in R&D environment. Proven track record as Project Manager with a strong knowledge of APQP/NPI processes, project management, systems and tools. Or transfer from technical role that has successfully executed work packages and demonstrated technical leadership for teams in matrix organization.
- Successful implementation track record on 1- 2 projects with moderate commercial cost and risk.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical taskforces.
- Some experience in development or technology transfers till product release.
- Working experience with R&D is required. High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) is good to have.
- Experience with relevant technology in the company is added advantage for role.
3. Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge: Good understanding of the project management knowledge framework (scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, risk management, stakeholder management, procurement management, integration management, communication management, human resources management).
- Skills: Proficient in project management software such as Project, Excel, Powerpoint (ability to summarize is essential) Effective presentation skills. Familiar with Project Management softwares ie MS Projects and Virtual Collaboration tools MS Teams, Sharepoints or equivalent. Good to have: Jira, Confluence and other similar PM software.
- Language : Adequate profiency in English; both spoken and written. Fluency in local language has added advantage due to interaction with local suppliers & shopfloor operations. Basic understanding of MES (manufacturing execution system).
