Wafer-Level-Optics (WLO)

By aligning with micro-optical design objectives, the company can design and fabricate master molds and perform high-precision imprinting on 6-inch or 8-inch POG (Polymer on Glass) wafer substrates. This scalable wafer-level process enables high-volume production of micro-nano optical components.

Wafer-Level-Stacking (WLS)

Focuslight wafer-level stacking (WLS) process uses advanced mask alignment equipment to stack multiple optical WLO wafers and rigid spacers with micron-level precision. The resulting assemblies are characterized by a barrel-free and bracket-free design, high compactness, high integration, and reflow compatibility.

Etched Micro-Optics

Focuslight Technologies is capable of manufacturing micro-optical components on 6- or 8-inch silicon or fused silica wafers using precision photolithography and reactive ion etching processes. Typical micro-lenses have a center thickness ranging from 0.3 to 3 mm, with sag heights up to 0.1 mm, and microlens array pitch accuracy within 0.3 μm. In addition to standard single-sided (a)spherical microlenses, the company can also fabricate (a)cylindrical microlenses, grooves with sizes between 2–20 μm, double-sided microlens structures with center alignment accuracy below 3 μm, and 45-degree micro-prisms on the backside of microlenses.

Single (A)cylindrical Lenses

Focuslight Technologies utilizes a globally unique wafer-level simultaneous structuring process technology to fabricate micro-optical components on inorganic material wafers up to 12 inches (300 mm x 300 mm) in size. This technology is compatible with a wide range of inorganic substrate materials, including calcium fluoride, magnesium fluoride, glass, quartz, silicon, germanium, and zinc selenide. It offers high precision, excellent repeatability, large-scale production capability, and cost efficiency.

V-Groove Arrays

Leveraging its wafer-level precision manufacturing processes, Focuslight Technologies has developed precisely engineered V-groove arrays tailored for multi-channel applications such as optical modules, fiber connectors, PLC splitters in FTTX networks, and AWGs in WDM systems. For 96-channel configurations, the cumulative pitch tolerance is controlled within ±1 µm, ensuring accurate alignment of fiber arrays. This enhances coupling efficiency between multi-channel fibers and reduces optical signal transmission loss.

With precision coating capabilities covering a wide spectrum from UV248 to IR3000nm, we offer AR, HR, bandpass, splitter, and polarizer coatings. Leveraging advanced characterization technologies—including nano defect diagnosis, coating stress and absorption analysis, LIDT evaluation, and coating structure analysis—we ensure optimal performance and reliability. Our state-of-the-art E-Beam PVD and Reactive Sputtering processes enable superior coating quality for demanding applications.
