Position Overview:
The server room operations engineer is responsible for ensuring the stable operation of the hardware, software, and network systems within the server room to support the business continuity and efficient operation of the enterprise. This position requires in-depth technical knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft server and VMware technologies, the ability to quickly solve various technical problems, and active participation in the optimization and upgrade of the system.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Microsoft Server Operations
- Install, configure, and manage the Microsoft Windows Server operating system, including services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.
- Manage the Microsoft SQL Server database, conduct database backup, recovery, optimization, and performance tuning.
2. VMware Operations
- Install, configure, and manage the VMware vSphere virtualization environment, including components such as ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
- Create and manage virtual machines, allocate resources rationally, and ensure the performance and availability of virtual machines.
- Perform migration, cloning, and snapshot operations of virtual machines to meet business requirements and disaster recovery requirements.
- Monitor the performance of the VMware environment and promptly resolve resource bottlenecks and faults.
3. Server Room Management
- Regularly conduct inspections of server hardware, including servers, storage devices, network devices, etc., and promptly identify and resolve potential hardware faults.
- Be responsible for the physical operations of servers such as racking, cabling, and decommissioning, ensuring the standardized layout and good operating environment of the server room equipment.
- Maintain the power, air conditioning, and fire protection infrastructure of the server room to ensure the normal operating conditions of the room.
4. System Monitoring and Backup
- Use monitoring tools to monitor the performance indicators of the server in real-time, such as CPU utilization, memory usage, disk space, etc., and promptly identify and handle abnormal situations.
- Develop and implement system backup strategies to ensure data security and recoverability, and regularly test the integrity of backup data.
5. Problem Solving and Emergency Handling
- Respond quickly and solve faults and problems that occur in the server system to ensure the normal operation of the business.
- Develop and implement emergency plans to be able to quickly restore the system and data in the event of major faults or disasters.
6. Technological Research and Innovation
- Follow new technologies and development trends in the industry, research and evaluate new server technologies and tools, and provide optimization and improvement suggestions for the enterprise.
- Participate in optimization projects of the server system to improve the performance, stability, and security of the system.
7. Documentation and Management
- Compile installation and configuration documents, operation manuals, and maintenance records of the server system to ensure the effective inheritance of technical knowledge.
- Manage the relevant licenses and software assets of the server system to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, information technology, or related fields.
2. Have more than 3 years of server operation and maintenance experience and be familiar with Microsoft server and VMware technologies.
3. Holding relevant Microsoft certifications (such as MCSE, MCSA) and VMware certifications (such as VCP) is preferred.
4. Be familiar with basic network knowledge, such as TCP/IP, VLAN, etc.
5. Have good problem-solving skills and teamwork spirit and be able to work efficiently under pressure.
6. Strong learning ability and sense of responsibility and have a strong interest in new technologies.
